Online Tour Stop 5 – A Natural Barrier As you travel over our boardwalk you first encounter Moores Creek. Named for Elisabeth Moore, a lady who owned the land during the time of the battle, Moores Creek is 10-feet-deep in most places. When you first walk on to the boardwalk you will notice there is no wall on that portion of the earthworks. That is because that portion of the earthwork is defended by the deep waters of Moores Creek and a swampy area just on the opposite side of the creek. |
