Park Closure

• Texas White House Complex Closure

  Alert, Severity, closure, Texas White House Complex Closure On January 2, 2024 the Texas White House Complex closed so the construction phase of the Texas White House rehabilitation can begin. The LBJ Ranch driving tour remains open. Visitors can still see the school, cemetery, birthplace and showbarn. more

Park Facilities - Current Status

The following areas are open 7 days a week:

Johnson City — 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

• Visitor Center Restrooms
• Visitor Center exhibits and information desk
• Park bookstore
• Johnson City Visitor Center Movie Theater. Films available upon request:
  • Park Orientation Film (15 minutes)
  • Our Heart's Home - A history of the LBJ Ranch (15 minutes)
  • LBJ the President (30 minutes)
  • Lady Bird Johnson (30 minutes)
• Boyhood Home - tours are free and begin from the visitor center
  • 10:00 am
  • 11:00 am
  • 1:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm
• Johnson Settlement Event Center exhibits and restrooms
• Johnson Settlement and trails are open sunrise to sunset daily

LBJ Ranch —Inbound gate opens at 9:00 am and closes at 4:30 pm. Exit gate closes at 5:00 pm.

Exhibits and Grounds open include:

• LBJ Ranch Driving Tour— Obtain driving permit at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site
• Junction School
  • Free Ranger talk at 11:30 am
• Birthplace
  • Temporary Restrooms
• Family Cemetery (private cemetery, able to view from outside)
• Show Barn
  • Free Ranger talk at 2:30 pm

The Texas White House Complex is closed. Sites include:

• Hangar Visitor Center
• Lockheed JetStar
• Klein Shop - Vehicle Display more info
