Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is located in south-central Ohio, in the town of Chillicothe, about one hour south of Columbus, Ohio. The park's 2023 visitation numbers totaled over 62,000 people. Peak visitation for the park is usually between the months of March and October.

• Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is located in the south-central Ohio area, about a one hour drive south of Columbus.
• The Visitor Center at Mound City Group is the park's only such facility. Visit the Directions page to determine the best way to reach the Visitor Center.
• Before you begin your journey to the park, be sure to check on the current traffic and Road Conditions around the park and Chillicothe area.

• There are no entrance fees to visit Hopewell Culture National Historical Park.

• Interpretive trails at the Mound City Group unit are handicap accessible. Please use caution as trails may be slightly uneven due to surfaces of grass, gravel, and wood chips. The visitor center does have one off-road type wheelchair available to those in need of mobility assistance. Wheelchair is first-come, first-serve and is available for use during normal visitor center hours of operation (every day, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm).
• Hopeton Earthworks is now open to the public and has a 1.1 mile (round trip) trail that leads to an area overlook where visitors can view remnants of the earthworks. There are no restrooms.
• A 2.5 mile trail is accessible at the Hopewell Mound Group unit. Trail is partially paved, gravel and grass. This site also contains a covered picnic shelter (first-come, first-serve basis) and accessible restrooms.
• Seip Earthworks has no paved trails. Trails may be uneven and only mowed grass. There are no restrooms. Also, there is a covered picnic area available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• High Bank Earthworks is not yet open for public visitation.
