 The public is invited to commemorate Harriet Tubman Day on March 10 at noon in the Thompson Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church on Parker Street in Auburn, part of Harriet Tubman National Historical Park. The event marks Tubman's approximate birthday in 1822 and will be held in the same sanctuary where her funeral took place in 1913.  After years of careful restoration and rehabilitation, The Thompson Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church and parsonage will open to the public on June 22, 2024. Both buildings are part of Harriet Tubman National Historical Park.  Harriet Tubman National Historical Park would like to introduce Brittany Lane as the first Lead Park Ranger for the park. Brittany will begin her new role on November 19, 2023.  On October 30th 2022, Harriet Tubman National Historical Park (NHP) is thrilled to present a special performance by the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers. A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 6,675,119 visitors to national parks in Maryland spent $246.6 million in the state in 2021. That spending resulted in 2,940 jobs and had a cumulative benefit to the state economy of $344.3 million.  Welcome to two new team members! Paula McCartney will be joining us as the new Administrative Officer, and Jessica Bowes comes onboard as the new Cultural Resources Specialist.  National Park Service (NPS) Regional Director Gay Vietzke has named Ahna Wilson as superintendent of Women’s Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls, New York. She will also oversee the management of Harriet Tubman National Historical Park in Auburn, New York. Harriet Tubman National Historical Park (NHP), in partnership with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), will hold a naturalization ceremony on the grounds of the National Park Service’s legislative partner, Harriet Tubman Home, Inc., at 180 South St. on August 8, 2019.  On Sunday, December 10, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Harriet Tubman National Historical Park will host “A North Star Holiday Tradition” program as part of the city of Auburn’s annual Holiday Traditions Celebration.
