COLONIAL BEACH, Va. —George Washington Birthplace National Monument will hold two open houses in September. One will be on Saturday, September 7th from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The second will be on September 12th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
During these open houses, the park invites the public to learn about, and provide feedback on, four park projects/issues: producing a new park film, converting park fields to native grasses, studies of park marshes, and future use of the Memorial House Museum. During both open houses, the public will be able to access the Memorial House Museum without being on a tour. The Visitor Center will also be open. More information about these open houses will be available on the park’s website starting September 3rd.
