Lease a building at Fort Hancock

Though this is a rolling solicitation, and NPS will accept responses to the Request for Proposal (RFP) until all buildings available under these RFP are leased or the NPS discontinues this solicitation, all buildings identified in connection with this opportunity are either leased; under a letter of intent; or subject to an agreement.
The National Park Service (NPS) is still accepting proposals as backups. Backup proposals may be considered in the order received if or when one of the buildings identified herein becomes available again.

Proposals are due monthly, on the last Friday of the month by 1:00 p.m., until all buildings available under this RFP are leased or the NPS discontinues this solicitation.

The face of the sealed envelope must include the Applicant's name and address, along with the following information:

The NPS will continue to accept responses to this Request for Proposals (RFP), in accordance with the schedule identified above, until all buildings available under this RFP are leased or the NPS discontinues this solicitation.


Electronic submission of proposals by email to gateway_bmd@nps.gov is permitted though such submissions will not have been deemed received until NPS issues a written response acknowledging receipt.

Telephonic proposals, faxes, and other means of transmittal will not be considered. Proposals or other materials submitted in response to the RFP will not be returned.

A limited number of site visits are available by appointment only. Please make your request for a site visit by email to gateway_bmd@nps.gov.


Applicants are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay any costs incurred by applicants or other interested parties which may be related to this Solicitation.

Opportunity: Lease of Government Facilities for any compatible use of Officers Row buildings, such as residential, lodging, or business use related to residential or lodging use within Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark, in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area (Gateway).

The selection of available buildings for compatible use is subject to the completion of ongoing
negotiations now underway with the applicants selected during the Pilot Phase.


Location: Historic Buildings 2 - 6, 8 17, 21, 27, 52, and 114 at Fort Hancock in Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.

Location: Historic Buildings 33, 36, 79, and 80 at Fort Hancock in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.

Location: Historic Buildings 23-25, 40, 53, 55-57, 60, 70 at Fort Hancock in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.
