National Park Service Other Positions Several organizations hire in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DWGNRA) and each has different application procedures. Summer is the peak season for the National Park Service. There are a wide variety of jobs available throughout the park. Wages vary with the position and required skills. The National Park Service hires employees either full-time or seasonally. Most employment extends from the beginning of June through Labor Day, with some seasonal positions lasting up to six months. Volunteer positions are also available with the National Park Service. Job opportunities for DWGNRA are announced on USA Jobs. DWGNRA does not accept or process any applications. Applicants must submit an application for each position listed on USA Jobs according to the instructions listed in each job announcement. It is important that you completely read those job announcements. There is not a standing roster for hiring. More applications are received than there are positions available. Only US citizens may be considered for government positions with the NPS. All applicants receive consideration without regard to race, color, sex, religion, age, or national origin. Each year more than 85,000 volunteers donate more than 3,000,000 hours of service in the US national parks. The program uses voluntary help in a way that is mutually beneficial to the National Park Service and the volunteer. Volunteer applications can be submitted directly to the park.
