Arrive Ready to Explore with a Pre-Paid Park Pass!

The following passes are available year-round in person and online in advance of your visit:
  • Crater Lake Annual Pass 
  • Private vehicle Pass - valid for 7 days 
  • Pass for bicycles, pedestrians, and snowmobiles - valid for 7 days

These and the passes listed below may also be purchased at an entrance station. The North Entrance Station and the North Entrance Road are closed beginning November 1 and reopen in mid-spring.

Entrance Fees for Crater Lake National Park

No reservations are needed to enter the park. Beginning January 1, 2023, no cash will be accepted. When you arrive, you can pay by debit or credit cards, and Apple or Samsung pay/digital wallet. Your fees are put to work improving visitor services and facilities. Thank you for supporting your national parks!

  • Private Vehicles - $30 in the summer (mid-May to October 31), $20 in the winter (November 1 to mid-May). Admits one private, non-commercial vehicle (15-passenger capacity or less) and all occupants. Good for 7 days.
  • Motorcycles - $25 in the summer (May 22-October 31), $15 in the winter (November 1 to mid-May). Admits one or two passengers on a private, non-commercial motorcycle. Good for 7 days.
  • Bicycles & Pedestrians - $15 per individual. Admits one individual with no motor vehicle (bicyclist, hiker, pedestrian). Youth 15 and under are admitted free of charge. Good for 7 days.
  • Commercial Vehicles - Fees for commercial vehicles are based on the capacity of the vehicle, not the number of passengers on board:
    Capacity of 1 to 6 passengers - $25 + $15 per passenger
    Capacity of 7 to 15 passengers - $75
    Capacity of 16 to 25 passengers - $100
    Capacity of 26 or more passengers - $200
    Note: All individuals, organizations, and businesses that lead commercial trips in the park (or receive monetary gain from commercial activities in the park) must apply for a commercial use authorization prior to entering.

Crater Lake National Park Annual Pass

If you visit twice in 12 months purchasing the park's annual pass will save you money. It is valid at Crater Lake National Park as well as Lava Beds National Monument. Beginning January 1, 2023, it will also be valid at Lassen Volcanic National Park and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. This annual pass costs $55 and admits the pass owner and all accompanying passengers in a single, private, noncommercial vehicle (or the pass owner plus up to three people when entry is by other means). The pass is available for purchase in the park or online and is good for one year from the month of issue.

America the Beautiful Passes

The America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series includes different options of interagency passes that provide access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas across the United States, including all national parks. All of these passes may be purchased at the entrance stations.

  • Annual entrance pass to all national parks and federal fee areas - $80 - This does not include camping or other reservations.
  • Lifetime pass for seniors - $80 - Lifetime or annual admission and discount pass for US citizens or permanent residents who are age 62 or older. An annual version of this pass, valid for 12 months, costs $20.
  • Annual pass for 4th graders - Free - Available for US 4th graders, including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age, with a valid Every Kid Outdoors paper pass
  • Annual pass for military - Free - Annual pass covering entrance and standard amenity fees for all active US military personnel and their dependents, valid for 12 months from date of issuance. (For active duty military personnel and dependents with proper identification (CAC Card or DD Form 1173).)
  • Lifetime entry for military veterans and Gold Star families
  • Access pass - Free - US citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship.
  • Annual pass for volunteers Volunteers should contact their volunteer coordinator for more information.

Academic Fee Waivers

Schools and other academic instituitions can apply for a waiver of park entrance fees, provided that their visit is for educational or scientific purposes. Learn more about academic fee waivers here.
