NPS photo Arbuckle Dam was built at the confluence of the Buckhorn, Guy Sandy, and Rock Creeks in 1966 to create the lake. Lake of the Arbuckles is a popular fishing destination for catfish, perch, bass, and crappie. Thirty-six miles of shoreline and protective coves are good for trotlines. The water is unusually clear, and trolling is popular. Facilities include campgrounds, picnic areas, public restrooms, drinking water, fishing docks, and boat ramps. Boat launch permits are required to use the boat ramps. |
