No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Buffalo National River.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

There is no entry fee to enter the Buffalo National River area, or to utilize the river for recreational opportunities. There is a fee to stay overnight at many of our campgrounds, which is payable at the self-check-in and registration boards. The Senior (gray) and the Access (blue) "America The Beautiful" passes entitle you to half off your campsite. The Annual (red), Military (purple), and 4th Grade (yellow) passes do not entitle you to this discount.

2024 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

• Monday, January 15 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• Saturday, April 20 — First Day of National Park Week
• Wednesday, June 19 — Juneteenth
• Sunday, August 4 — The Great American Outdoors Act
• Saturday, September 28 — National Public Lands Day
• Monday, November 11 — Veterans Day

 

Buffalo National River does not charge an entry fee or day use fee. There are no fees or permits required for backcountry camping.

 

Campground Fees

Campground fees and amenities are provided on the chart pictured. Please note fees are charged from March 15 - November 14. Water systems are winterized and unavailable from November 15 - March 14. Primitive camping is available at all campgrounds during the winter. The B-Loop at Buffalo Point offers primitive winter camping with a vault restroom and drinking water available. The drive-in loop at Tyler Bend remains open with water and showers during the winter months and the rest of the campground is closed.

Six person limit per individual campsite. A six stock limit per site at horse campgrounds.
* Erbie group sites are $50 per night and can be reserved by calling the Tyler Bend Visitor Center at 870-439-2502, at least 5 days in advance.Group sites are limited to 10 - 25 people.
** Tyler Bend and Buffalo Point group sites are $50 per night and can be reserved by calling 1-877-444-6777 or through www.recreation.gov. Group sites are limited to 10 - 25 people.
