Fire Activity in Bandelier’s Historic District

Los Alamos, N.M. – Fire activity was detected in one of the buildings in Bandelier’s Historic District at approximately 9:50 am on Thursday, December 5. Park Visitor Resource and Protection rangers were the first ones on scene. The building was vacant at the time. 

The Los Alamos Fire Department and Los Alamos Police Department responded quickly with multiple resources. The cause is currently under investigation.

The Bandelier visitor center has been closed and evacuated out of an abundance of caution.
