Choosing an Entrance Pass

Do you have or qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful Pass?

If you already have an America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, that's the only entrance pass you need. Seniors, military, visitors with a permanent disability, and families with a 4th grader are eligible for a free or discounted America the Beautiful pass.

Entrance Passes

Standard Entrance Pass

$15.00–$25.00

All entrance passes are all valid for seven days and include access to all areas of the park, including Tsankawi. Children 15 years and younger are free. All digital Site Passes must be printed prior to arriving at Bandelier.

For Vehicles

If you enter the park in a motorized vehicle, your entrance pass covers both you and your passengers. Your passengers do not need a separate pass.

Pass covers all persons traveling in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle (car, truck, camper, or van up to 15 passengers). Auto passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen. Entrance passes do not cover camping fees.

Pass covers a single motorcycle and up to two people. Motorcycle passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.

For Individuals without a Vehicle

If you enter the park on a bicycle or on foot and are at least 16 years old, you need your own entrance pass. Children under the age of 16 don't need an entrance pass.

Pass covers per person entrance fee for those 16 years of age and older traveling on foot or by bicycle, or for individuals traveling together in a 16 passenger or greater vehicle as a non-commercial, organized group. Individual passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.

Annual Entrance - Park

Valid for one year from month of purchase. Admits passholder and passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle, or the pass holder plus up to 3 other people when entry is by other means (foot, bicycle). Non-transferable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen.

America the Beautiful Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must show valid photo identification (ID) with each pass.

How to Get an America the Beautiful Pass

Passes can be purchased or picked up at over 1,000 federal recreation sites.

Order Online, Receive by Mail

To receive your pass by mail, order online at the USGS Online Store . Online orders are for physical passes, not digital passes, and may take up to three weeks to be processed and delivered. Order receipts may not be used in place of a physical pass. We recommend ordering at least three weeks in advance of your visit, or picking up a pass in person instead.

2024 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

Your fee dollars help parks! 80% of fees collected at Bandelier stay in the park and are used to complete projects that improve the visitor experience, enhance recreation opportunities, restore cultural and natural resources, and address deferred maintenance projects.

Bandelier National Monument is US Fee Area. Valid entrance passes are required.
All entrance passes are all valid for seven days and include access to all areas of the park, including Tsankawi.

7-Day Auto Pass - $25.00
Pass covers all persons traveling in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle (car, truck, camper, or van up to 15 passengers). Auto passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.

7-Day Motorcycle Pass - $20.00
Pass covers a single motorcycle and up to two people. Motorcycle passes are non-transferable and not replaced if lost or stolen.

7-Day Individual Pass - $15.00

Purchase your Bandelier entrance pass through Recreation.gov before your visit and avoid waits at the Automated Fee Machines and Visitor Center! Whether you’re visiting tomorrow or months from now, you will have immediate access to your Site Pass on your phone or tablet and as an easily printable PDF sent right to your email.
Keep in mind there is very little service in the canyon. All digital Site Passes must be either printed or saved to your device ahead of time with the QR code accessible to scan.

Groups arriving at Bandelier are charged entrance fees according to the type of group:

Camping Fees

Juniper Family Campground - $20/night per campsite; $10/night per campsite for Senior and Access Pass holders

Loop A is first come first serve, Loops B & C are available on Recreation.gov to reserve ahead of time or same day. For more information visit Juniper Family Campground.

Juniper Family Campgroup Group Campsites - $50/night per site
Two group sites accommodate 10-20 campers. Juniper Group Sites available by reservation only through Recreation.gov.

Ponderosa Group Campground - $50/night per site

An America the Beautiful - the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is your ticket to over 2000 federally managed recreation sites across the country. A pass covers entrance, standard amenity fees and day use fees for a driver and all passengers in a personal vehicle at per vehicle fee areas (or up to four adults at sites that charge per person). Bandelier is proud to offer and honor the full suite of America the Beautiful – the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes.
