Los Alamos, N.M. – Bandelier National Monument is announcing the return of its popular Winter Solstice Walks on December 20-22, 2024. The ranger-led program will start at the Bandelier National Monument Visitor Center at 7 am on all three days.
The early-morning program will take participants to the entrance of Tyuonyi Pueblo in Frijoles Canyon. It is a short walk from the park’s visitor center. The sun will rise in alignment with the entrance of Tyuonyi Pueblo as it has for over four centuries.
Participants should dress warmly and wear appropriate footwear. Please check our social media pages as the event draws closer in the event of any changes or cancellations due to weather.
