Notes: His birth date is not exact, but he was born about 1667. He became a Jesuit at 15 and sailed for the New World at 25. He began his ministry at San Ignacio in 1693 at age 26. He buried Father Kino when he was 44. He ministered at Guevavi from San Ignacio. He was removed from San Ignacio by his superiors in 1736. He kept the Pimas in contact with Christianity after Kino's death with yearly expeditions to the west and north. He may have been the first to record the name of Tubac in 1726. He seemed to have travelled even more than Father Kino. |
