We want to keep you connected with what is happening in Yosemite National Park. Below is a list of our blogs-each one with a different focus and written by employees and volunteers with an interest in communicating to you what is happening in their field of expertise. Yosemite Ranger Notes: Ranger-naturalists have been interpreting the natural and cultural resources of Yosemite for park visitors for nearly a century. In this blog, some of Yosemite's park rangers share recent observations from around Yosemite. Yosemite Fire Information and Updates: During the summer, we'll post updates and information about fires in Yosemite. This will include information about planned prescribed burns as well as natural fires ignited by lightning. Search and Rescue: Lessons from the Field: Each year, park rangers and search and rescue (SAR) personnel respond to approximately 250 emergency incidents in Yosemite National Park. The park's Preventive Search and Rescue (PSAR) program posts selected SAR incident reports on this blog in the hopes that readers can learn from the experiences of others.
Inside Our Collections: The Yosemite Museum collects cultural artifacts, natural specimens, and historic records that document Yosemite National Park. Ever wondered about what's in this very special collection? In this blog the "spotlights" are brief descriptions about individual artifacts or documents, and "curious matters" will be longer articles about various selected artifacts.
