Yosemite Deaf Services will have a booth at the DeafNation World Expo in Las Vegas next week. Come by to say hi, ask questions, or just gaze at the gorgeous posters and photographs I'll have on display. Come tell me what you'd like to see Deaf Services do in the future, and if you've been to Yosemite and used Deaf Services in the past, come tell me how it went. 2012 Deaf Services News

Yosemite is a naturally Deaf-friendly place. It's the outdoors! You don't need to hear here. You can camp, swim, float, hike, bike, and take in all the scenery without any need for hearing or interpreting. Working here reminded me of this wonderful Clayton Valli poem, "Deaf World," about the natural connection many Deaf people have with the outdoors. |
