Kill Devil Hill
There is no accessible-marked parking or curb cuts in the five lots around the base of Kill Devil Hill.
Paths
Visitor Center
There is a ramp up to the front entrance station of the visitor center. It is:
Width: at least 3 feet wide
Slope: maximum of 8.8%
There are no ramps connecting the rear entrances of the building to the back patio.
Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are located outside the visitor center, the Pavilion Restrooms on the south end of the parking lot, and the Pilot Booth near the First Flight Aistrip.
Big Kill Devil Hill
Big Kill Devil Hill can be reached by walking a sidewalk connecting the visitor center to the hill, or by driving and parking at the base of the hill. At the top of the hill, two steps are required to reach the base of the monument, and if open, two steps to descend into the base of the monument.
A flat, concrete path leads from the Visitor Center to the First Flight Boulder and the base of Kill Devil Hill. The path to the top of Kill Devil Hill is paved, but the grade becomes very steep toward the top of the hill, ranging between 14% and 24% slope. Some paths to the top are shorter, and others are less steep. Please talk to a park ranger to select a path that is best for you.

A map of Kill Devil Hill. North is to the top of the page. From the northeast corner of the map, a paved road comes in, makes a hairpin turn by the Visitor Center, before continuing down and ending in a large circular drive around Kill Devil Hill. Behind the visitor center is a paved and flat path that heads west before turning south and leading directly to Kill Devil Hill. The path follows the original flight path. There are multiple paths leading around and up to the top of Kill Devil Hill. Some paths are marked as paved and flat (green line of dots and dashes), paved with a slope less than 16% (dashed blue line), or paved with a slope less than 24% (thin solid grey line). All paths lead up to the memorial at the top of the hill. At the southern most point on the circular drive around the the hill, there is a sculpture garden.
Flight Line and Camp Buildings
The reconstructed camp buidlings and flight line are located a short distance from the visitor center via a level, paved path. the flight line its not paved, but is stablized with a rubber matting that may be suitable for certain mobility devices. A small step is required to enter the reconstructed hangar.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available for loan first-come, first-served from the information desk in the visitor center. These wheelchairs may travel anywhere in the park except for the steep routes of Big Kill Devil Hill.
