Whiskeytown, CA - Whiskeytown National Recreation Area requests the assistance of the local community in identifying two suspects involved in a theft that occurred in the area of Clair A. Hill Whiskeytown Dam on March 17, 2024. A victim reported a purse and wallet stolen from their vehicle.
Through the park's investigation, surveillance cameras show two suspects making fraudulent transactions at several area businesses in Redding, California. Anyone with information about these suspects or the theft is encouraged to Email WHIS_Law_Enforcement_Staff@nps.gov or leave a message for the investigating officer at (530) 242-3468. Any information provided is greatly appreciated and callers can remain anonymous if desired (please leave a message), although a callback number is very helpful if we need clarification.
The National Park Service encourages all park visitors to always lock your vehicle, take any valuables with you when away from your vehicle or campsite, and report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 911 or Whiskeytown Dispatch at (530) 242-3431.
