Access to Tonto National Monument is as follows:
Open 8 am-4 pm: All Year Round
- Visitor Center and Museum
- Park Store
- Picnic Area
Hours Vary:
- Lower Cliff Dwelling Trail and Cactus Patch Trail.
- May-October: Visitors must begin their hike before 12 noon. Trail may close due to excessive heat, lightning, bee activity, or flooding.
- October-May: Visitors must begin their hike before 3 pm. Trail may close due to excessive heat, lightning, bee activity, or flooding.
- Upper Cliff Dwelling Trail available only with a guided tour November-April. For more information, visit the Guided Tours page.
Regular Closures:
- Thanksgiving Eve: Park Closes at 2:00p.m. Lower Cliff Dwelling closes at 1:00 p.m.
- Thanksgiving Day: CLOSED
- Christmas Eve: Park closes at 2:00 pm. Lower Cliff Dwelling Trail closes at
- 1:00 pm.
- Christmas Day: CLOSED
- New Years Eve: Park closes at 2:00 pm. Lower Cliff Dwelling Trail closes at 1:00 pm.
