This Discover our Shared Heritage Travel Detroit, MI website is produced by the National Park Service’s Cultural Resources Office of Interpretation and Education.
Much of the travel itinerary content was written by Jade Ryerson, an intern with the Cultural Resources Office of Interpretation and Education. Janese Chapman, Deputy Director of Detroit’s Legislative Policy Division with the Historic Designation Advisory Board and Jennifer Reinhardt, a Historic Preservation Planner with the Detroit City Council, Legislative Policy Division of the Historic Designation Advisory Board provided feedback on website content. David Goldstein, Lead for Tribal and Cultural Affairs in the National Park Service’s Region 1 contributed his research and insight. Kat Slocum, Valentin Pulido, and Ariel Schnee conducted the original research on Detroit’s music industry, which informed the music Trip Idea featured on the itinerary. The website was designed in 2020 by Katherine Crawford-Lackey.

The Detroit Travel Itinerary was produced by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, in cooperation with the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers. It was created under the direction of Carol Shull, Keeper of the National Register of Historic Places, National Park Service, and is based on information in the files of the National Register.
Property descriptions were written by Nathan Poe, Sarah Pope, Rustin Quaide and Bill Wright of the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO). The guide was designed by Nathan Poe and Bill Wright with the assistance of Mark Oviatt, also of NCSHPO.
