PRA Policies: Federal departments and agencies must comply with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA) when they seek to collect information from the public. The PRA sets out processes designed to ensure that both the value of collecting the information and the public burden of providing that information are considered carefully. [pdf]

Social Media Memo: In 2010, OIRA issued a Social Media Memorandum, explaining that many ways in which agencies use social media and web-based interactive technologies do not require PRA approval. [pdf]

DOI Privacy Act Program: While compliance with the Privacy Act is managed separately within DOI, the Privacy Act Program is closely linked to the Paperwork Reduction Act since information collected might be Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

OMB OIRA: This site provides access to the Whitehouse.gov site for the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), which is the organization within OMB that reviews and approves information collection requests. This site provides reports and guidance on handling specific PRA issues.

Reginfo.gov: This site is a publicly accessible website where OIRA publishes rulemaking and ICR statistics and details. This website is updated when Information Collection Requests (ICRs) are submitted to OMB for approval.
