The Superintendent’s Compendium contains all regulations, closures, designations, permit requirements, or other policies made by the superintendent. Drone Use ProhibitedThe use of drones is prohibited in Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park and all units of the National Park Service. Detailed information about the policy.
Firearms in National ParksThe law governing possession of firearms inside a national park changed on February 22, 2010. Visitors may possess firearms within a national park unit provided they comply with federal, state, and local laws. The role of the responsible gun owner is to know and obey the federal, state, and local laws appropriate to the park they are visiting. For more information about Missouri gun laws, please visit their website. Please remember that federal law prohibits firearms in certain park facilities and buildings. These places are marked with signs at public entrances. Filming & Still PhotographyLands of the United States were set aside by Congress, Executive Order, or otherwise acquired in order to conserve and protect areas of untold beauty and grandeur, historical importance, and uniqueness for future generations. The tradition of capturing images of these special places started with explorers who traveled with paint and canvas or primitive photo apparatus. It was the sharing of these images that led to the designation of these areas as national parks and monuments. Visitors to national parks today continue to memorialize their visits through videos and photographs. |
