Who doesn’t love a waterfall? In addition to the numerous small cascades along mountain streams, there are large waterfalls in every district of Shenandoah National Park, each with its own beauty and personality. All are accessible from a parking place along Skyline Drive, but note that all involve a hike downhill—and, of course, the harder hike back up! Just remember: never walk around on top of a waterfall - wet rocks are surprisingly slippery and, unfortunately, there have been several serious or fatal injuries around our waterfalls. |
