Volunteers play a major role in the stewardship of our public lands and work in almost every area of the parks. Their contribution helps preserve and protect the parks' natural and cultural resources, advances essential scientific research through community science, aids in preventative search and rescue, provides information and education to visitors, and much more. Both individuals and organized groups are welcome to volunteer, and opportunities are available for all ages and skill levels. Individual Volunteer OpportunitiesMost volunteer opportunities are available primarily during the busy summer season, though some positions are available year-round. Individuals can devote their time and energy in assisting the park in both long- and short-term positions. Group Volunteer OpportunitiesA group of friends, family, co-workers, or any other group can participate in short- or long-term projects scheduled throughout the year. Most projects take place in the summer, where volunteer groups can camp for no charge at the Wolverton Service Camp, located near the Giant Forest area of Sequoia National Park. Partner Organized OpportunitiesFolks can volunteer with or join an organization that already has an established relationship with this park. These positions vary greatly and could be from a few days to a yearlong appointment. For most of these groups, you can apply for positions directly through their website. See our Partner Organized Volunteer Opportunities page for more information. Current Volunteer Opportunities |
