The biannual safety inspections of the three tunnels along the Scotts Bluff Summit Road are scheduled to take place on October 8th and October 9th (if necessary) from 08:00AM to 12:00PM. During this time, Summit Road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. This will be necessary to provide a safe work environment for our inspectors and to keep our visitors safe in these work zones. These inspections are crucial to ensure the safety and well-being of many visitors, as well as preserving these crucial pieces of our infrastructure at the Monument.
