Location: Harbison Meadows Picnic Area is located on the west side of the park, near the town of Grand Lake, Colorado. It is located 0.7 miles from Grand Lake Entrance Station on Highway 34 (Trail Ridge Road), on the west side of the road.
Description: Harbison Meadows Picnic Area offers expansive views of the lower Kawuneeche Valley and the distant Gore Mountain Range and is one of the first stops along Trail Ridge Road after entering the park from the west side. The surrounding area was burned in the 2020 East Troublesome Fire. There are 2 tables in the pavilion, and 3 tables in the meadow.
Restrooms: Yes. Two vault toilets with hand sanitizer in parking lot.
Special Site Restrictions: Event may not occupy picnic sites for ceremonies. Note: Wildlife frequent the area. Pets permitted on leash within 100 feet of the picnic area.
Mobility Impairment Accessibility: Yes. Narrow gravel path from parking lot to cover picnic area. No path to other 3 tables, only grass and dirt on a short decent from the parking lot. In winter, the parking area is plowed, but picnic tables are covered in several feet of snow.
Note: The area was affected by the East Troublesome Fire in 2020. Trees outside the meadow are burned.
