Looking for Something Fun to Do With Your Scout Troop?

National parks like Rocky Mountain National Park provide scouts of all ages with an ideal setting where individual scouts and troops can work towards many of their merit badge requirements. Upon request, park rangers at Rocky can offer custom programs designed to meet the requirements of different badges scouts are working on.

The time spent in one of these custom programs can also count towards the National Park Service Resource Stewardship Boy Scout Ranger and Girl Scout Ranger certificates and patches.

To Learn More or to Schedule a Scout Ranger Program:

Begin by contacting the RMNP Information Office via email at romo_information@nps.gov. In your email message, tell us about your troop, any badges you are working towards, and let us know what kind of program you would be most interested in scheduling.

Interested in Participating in the NPS Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger Program?

The Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger Program was created by the National Park Service in partnership with Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America to help scouts gain a better understanding of the National Park Service mission and to encourage them to help conserve the nation's natural, cultural and historic resources.

In recognition of completing their required resource stewardship activities, scouts are awarded certificates and/or patches for their participation in the program.

  • Scouts can earn a program certificate when five hours of education programs or volunteer service are completed.

  • The NPS Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger patch is awarded when 10 hours of education programs or volunteer service are completed.
