Parking & Hiking Reservations

Tall Trees Trailhead and the Gold Bluffs Beach Day-use Area (including the Fern Canyon Trailhead) require free permits. Tall Trees Trailhead permits are required year-round and can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Gold Bluffs Beach Day-use permits are required May 15th to September 15th and can be made up to 24 hours in advance

 

Campground Reservations

All reservations and questions about availability for the four state park campgrounds can be made through ReserveCalifornia. Reservations can be made no later than two days before arrival, depending on availability. Learn more about our developed campgrounds.

 

Backcountry Camping Permits

Free permits are required for camping at all designated backcountry camps in Redwood National and State Parks. Please obtain your permits at least 48 hours before your planned backcountry date. No phone reservations are made for backcountry permits. Apply for a backcountry camping permit.

 

Special Use Permits

Commercial filming and commercial photography, events, weddings, first amendment gatherings, scientific research, and scattering of human remains in Redwood National & State Parks require a permit. Learn more about Special Use Permits.
