On Saturday, June 24th, the monument will celebrate Pollinator Week with educational activities, naturalist-led plant walks, citizen science programs, and more!
Activities will be offered from 11 am to 2 pm.  No fishing or paddling gear? No problem! Big Thicket is hosting several fun events throughout the summer where you can borrow our gear and learn skills from park rangers.  Strong City, KS - Come to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve on Memorial Day Saturday May 27th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and enjoy kid’s activities geared toward learning and making memories. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day. There is no entrance fee and all activities are free at the preserve.  On Saturday, July 30th, the Great Plains Zoo Mobile from Sioux Falls will be at the park from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come out to learn about wildlife, how we can help protect it, and even get to touch them in a safe environment while they're here! The Zoo Mobile crew always puts on a great program that is interactive, educational, and fun.  It’s double the junior ranger fun! Two parks, each with their own junior ranger program, are hosting a fun-filled Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, April 16, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at Sacajawea Historical State Park at 2503 Sacajawea Park Rd in Pasco, Washington  Each year, agencies and organizations engaged in public outreach submit publications, videos, digital campaigns, and exhibits for competition in NAI’s media awards. The Lewis and Clark Trail Junior Ranger Activity Journal was awarded first place NAI Media Award in the book category after receiving top marks for thoughtful messaging and innovative online components.  Historical Society of Michigan 2021 State History Award Recipient for Education: Educational Programs—"Virtual Field Trip Partnerships" hosted by the River Raisin National Battlefield Park/Monroe County Intermediate School District.  Join park staff and visitors at Tumacácori National Historical Park to celebrate Día de San Juan on Thursday, June 24, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Acompáñanos en el Parque Histórico Nacional de Tumacácori para celebrar el Día de San Juan, el lunes 24 de junio de 1:00 a 3:00 p.m.  Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail announces the debut of a trailwide Junior Ranger program, which is now available at more than 30 locations in 13 states across the country. Tumacácori is one of 32 parks and park partners to receive an Open OutDoors for Kids Hybrid Learning grant from the National Park Foundation (NPF), which works in partnership with the National Park Service and the park partner community to ensure that national parks reach their fullest potential and connect with as many people as possible. This grant will enable Tumacácori to share its story through the voices of its many demonstrators, volunteers, and staff members and then create a space for students to lend their own voices to the discussion.
