Wednesday, July 11, 2012 The new moon rises July 18, with low tides in the early mornings:
Blackberries have begun ripening in full sun areas like the borders of the Giacomini Wetlands! Summer continues with brown pelicans diving and splashing in Drakes Bay. Saturday, July 21 is "Big Time" at Kule Loklo, the Coast Miwok Exhibit near Bear Valley Visitor Center. Bring a picnic and enjoy a day with traditional California dancers, basketmakers, flintknappers, and vendors from 10 am to 4 pm. The event is free, but no pets or alcohol. New displays at the Bear Valley Visitor Center highlight science projects completed in the park with West Marin School students. Part of the display is a relief map of the local geography created with Dewey Livingston. |
