Cancelled until further noticeFrom 1981 to 2019, Point Reyes National Seashore hosted Big Time Festival at Kule Loklo in mid-July of each year. Big Time is a gathering that evokes the past while exploring the present and future of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and Native California. The public was invited to walk through Kule Loklo with an appetite for listening, talking, learning, and storytelling with demonstrators, allies, park staff, volunteers, and tribal members. Traditional dancers shared dances. Visitors could learn more about the Coast Miwok and other local American Indians now and going forward at a variety of informational booths. Park staff, partners, and volunteers offered programs throughout the day to discuss questions of place, land, and belonging. |
