Internships

Cultural Resource Programs - Multiple

Annually - hires individuals through a NCPE (National Council for Preservation Education) agreement to serve as interns for programs including: Archeology, Anthropology, Cultural Landscapes, Historic Architecture, History, and Museum Resources. Summer positions (beginning May to July and ending September to October) are typically posted on https://preservenet.org/ncpe-internships/ in January. Academic year positions (beginning January and ending in April) are typically posted on https://preservenet.org/ncpe-internships/ in September.

Invasive Plant Management program

Annually - hires individuals to serve on field crews managing invasive plants from spring through early fall. Positions are typically posted on USAJobs in winter (January-March). Internships are also offered for similar positions through Conservation Legacy.

Inventory & Monitoring

Annually - hires individuals to serve on field crews monitoring forest vegetation from late spring through early fall and stream water quality year round. Positions are typically posted on USAJobs in winter (December - February).

Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance

Annually - hires individuals to serve as interns on a variety of project topics involving natural and cultural resources in national parks of the National Capital Region. Internships may run over the summer or through the year.
