Become a New River Gorge National Park and Preserve Junior Ranger!Do you like to have fun? Would you like to learn more about your national park? Would you like to help park rangers protect our park? Participating in the Junior Ranger program is a great way to have fun and learn what makes this park so special. It is easy to get started, just stop by any visitor center and ask a park ranger for a Junior Ranger book. Once you have your book there are a few requirements you must meet in order to complete the program and earn a cool New River Gorge Junior Ranger badge! The next step is to complete the required number of activities in the Junior Ranger book. Ask a ranger to check your book when you are done. When you have finished all of the requirements you will receive an official New River Gorge Junior Ranger badge and certificate. Now you can go and share what you have learned about New River Gorge National Park and Preserve and the National Park System with all of your family and friends! Didn't Finish Your Book in Time?If you didn't have a chance to finish all the activities in your book when you were visiting the park, or you want to participate online, you can still earn your Junior Ranger sticker. You can mail your completed booklet to the national park by filling out the address form on the back. Or you can place your booklet into an envelope and mail it to: New River Gorge National Park and Preserve A ranger will review your booklet, sign your certificate, and mail you your sticker. Please allow several weeks processing time. Become a Junior Ranger Angler!Are you ready to earn your Junior Ranger Angler badge? For more information visit the Junior Ranger Angler page and download the new Junior Ranger Let's Go Fishing! booklet. Or visit either Canyon Rim or Sandstone Visitor Center and ask for a booklet.
