VIEW FROM WAYSIDE: The wayside is set in a corner of the boardwalk. Behind the wayside is the wooden fence of the boardwalk and the flat scrubby grassland that leads up to the rolling hills in the distance. Depending on the time of year, the grassland can be covered in brightly colored wildflowers. In the dryer, winter season, the landscape is more browns and greens.
Aliante Parkway Kiosk

This interpretive kiosk is located at N. Aliante Pkwy & W. Moonlight Falls Ave. The kiosk describes the history of scientific research at Tule Springs, safety tips, park regulations, and a map of the monument. This area features relatively flat terrain, creosote desert scrub habitat, and views of the Las Vegas and Sheep ranges.
Henry Bakeman

Henry Bakeman enlisted in April 1781, after British and Mohawk troops had destroyed his home village of Stone Arabia in October 1780. Involved first in carrying packages from one Patriot fort to another, resulting in “many skirmishes with the Indiana & Tories,” by late 1782 Bakeman found himself involved in what would be the last engagement of the Revolutionary War. Disaster awaited them. Bakeman’s story was well-documented through his pension record in 1834.
