Billings Farm & Museum

Arriving At the Park by Car

Parking for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is at Billings Farm & Museum, just off Route 12, 1/2 mile north of Woodstock. Click here for Google directions. From Woodstock, cross the iron bridge, take a right onto Old River Road, and the Visitor Center lot is immediately on the right.

Free parking is available in two lots: the main lot adjacent to the Visitor Center and an overflow lot across the street, which accommodates larger vehicles and buses.

To enter Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park from the Billings Farm & Museum, take the paved path next to the flag pole, walk up and cross Elm St via the crosswalk, take the left fork, and walk up the short, steep hill to the Carriage Barn Visitor Center. The Carriage Barn Visitor Center is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Memorial Day weekend - October 31.

Limited accessible parking (no placard required) is available behind the mansion for visitors who cannot walk up the steep hill. Follow accessible parking signs beginning at the entrance crosswalk. During busy days and events, an electric cart can pick up passengers at the Billings Farm & Museum and bring them up the hill to the National Park. Arriving by RV, Bus, or Trailer

The Billings Farm & Museum has an RV Parking/Overflow lot directly across from its main parking lot. When entering Billings Farm & Museum via Route 12, follow signage to turn left into the RV/Overflow lot (rather than turning right into the main lot).

Driving Directions

From the West (Albany, NY)

From Interstate 87, take Exit 20 for Route 149, Fort Ann/Whitehall. Follow Route 149 for 13 miles to Route 4 East. Continue on Route 4 through Rutland and Killington to Woodstock. Turn left onto Route 12 North and bear right after the iron bridge, continuing 1/4 mile. Park in the Billings Farm & Museum parking lot. Take the paved path to the right of the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center, walk up and cross the street, and take the left fork to reach the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park Carriage Barn Visitor Center.

From All Other Directions

From Interstate 89, take Exit 1. Follow Route 4 West for about 13 miles, through Quechee and Taftsville to Woodstock. Turn right onto Route 12 North and bear right after the iron bridge, continuing 1/4 mile. Park in the Billings Farm & Museum parking lot. Take the paved path to the right of the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center, walk up and cross the street, and take the left fork to reach the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park Carriage Barn Visitor Center.

Arriving By Plane

The three closest major airports are Burlington, VT (95 miles from the park), Manchester, NH (97 miles), and Boston, MA (143 miles). Small regional airports are in Rutland, VT (37 miles) and West Lebanon, NH (16 miles).

Bus Service (to Hanover & Lebanon NH)

Dartmouth Coach offers service from Boston's Logan Airport to Hanover, NH (20 miles) and Lebanon, NH (16 miles). No other airports are connected to this area. The Dartmouth Coach also offers service from New York City to Hanover, NH, and Lebanon, NH. Taxi service is limited.
