The Carriage Barn was built on the foundation of an earlier stable in 1895 to house the Billings Family horses, carriages and sleighs.
The building is currently used as the headquarters and visitor center for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.
The building is open 10am-5pm, Memorial Day weekend until October 31. The main floor contains the exhibit Conservation Stewardship: A Place in the Land, an America's National Parks bookstore, a reading area, and restrooms. Park Rangers are available to assist with site information and orientation during open hours. Junior Ranger books and passport stamps are available at this location. Directions to the Carriage Barn Visitor Center:
Parking is at the Billings Farm & Museum Overflow Parking lot, across the street from the National Park. If using a GPS, enter "69 Old River Rd, Woodstock, VT 05091".To enter the National Park, take the paved path to the right of the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center, walk up and cross the street, and then take the left fork and walk up the short, steep hill to the Carriage Barn Visitor Center.
Limited accessible parking (no placard required) is available behind the mansion for visitors who cannot walk up the steep hill. During busy days and events, an electric cart is available to pick up passengers at the Billings Farm & Museum and bring them up to the National Park.For more information about accessibility, visit our Accessibilty page.
