Entrance Passes

Standard Entrance Pass

$15.00–$25.00

Entrance fees are collected seasonally at the fee booth at the north end of the park. If that is closed, please proceed to the park's visitor center. Staff there can collect your fees and answer any questions that you may have about the park.

Park Entrance is $25 per vehicle and is good for 7 days.

Lava Beds National Monument, Crater Lake National Park, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area all share an annual pass. It is $55.00 and is valid for a year from the date of purchase.

Lava Beds Fees

Fees collected through entry passes are used to support visitor services and improvements around the park, like creating new waysides, maintaining campsites and public use areas, and incorporating accessibility features into the park. More information and FAQs are available on NPS.gov.

Lava Beds National Monument is a fee use area that charges a entrance fee to the park as well as fees for camping. Please use the drop down menu below to learn about Lava Beds fees.

 

1-7 Day Vehicle Entrance Fee: $25.00 
1-7 Day Individual Fee (Bicycle, Hiker, Horseback, etc.): $15.00
1-7 Day Motorcycle Fee: $20.00

**Please note that if arriving after hours the entrance fee can be payed at the self pay station near the Visitor Center Parking lot (cash & check only)**

Entrance fees are not charged to persons under 16 years of age or holders of any of the below annual or lifetime passes. These passes may be obtained at the Park.

Campsite Fee: $10.00 per night, per site
Group Campsite: $3.00 per person, up to $60.00 per night

Annual and Lifetime Passes


The Lava Beds Annual Pass and the Interagency America the Beautiful Pass will cover the entrance fee to Lava Beds.

Lava Beds Annual Pass:

Available for: Everyone

How to purchase:

  • In Person: At the Lava Beds Visitor Center (year round) or at the Lava Beds Entrance Station (during summer months).

Additional Information:

  • Good for one year from date of purchase
  • Starting January 1st 2023, the Lava Beds Annual Pass will be honored at at not only Lava Beds but also Crater Lake National Park, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. The Annual and Lifetime Senior Passes

Senior Pass

Cost:

  • $80 Lifetime Senior Pass
  • $20 Annual Senior Pass

Available for: US citizens or permanent residents ages 62 or over. Applicants must provide documentation of age and residency or citizenship.

  • The Senior Pass may provide a 50 percent discount on some amenity fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launch, and specialized interpretive services.
  • The Senior Pass generally does NOT cover or reduce special recreation permit fees or fees charged by concessioners.
  • Golden Age Passports are no longer sold. However, these passes are still honored according to the provisions of the pass.
  • Passes may not be purchased as gifts since eligible recipient must show proof of eligibility.

  • Current US military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force, as well as Reserve and National Guard members. Please check photo ID requirements before arriving.

  • Gold Star Families with a valid Gold Star Family Voucher
  • US military veterans with a valid, veteran ID

Available for: US citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship.

Volunteer Pass

Cost: Free annual pass

Available for: Volunteers with 250 service hours with federal agencies that participate in the Interagency Pass Program

Every Kid Outdoors 4th Grade Pass 2022-2023

4th Grade Pass

Cost: Free pass valid for the duration of the 4th grader's school year though the following summer (September-August)

Available for: US 4th graders, including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age, with a valid Every Kid Outdoors paper voucher

How to get:

  • Step 1: Get a paper voucher by visiting the Every Kid Outdoors website and following the instructions.
  • Step 2: Exchange a printed voucher for the Annual 4th Grade Pass at federal recreation sites that charge entrance or standard amenity fees (day use fee). Find a location to pick up this pass at a federal recreation site.
  • NOTE: Digital versions of the paper voucher, such as on smart phones or tablets, are not accepted to exchange for an Annual 4th Grade Pass.
