Jimmy Carter National Historical Park Junior Ranger Booklet

The Junior Ranger motto, "Explore. Learn. Protect." is recited by children around the country; each taking an oath of their own to protect parks, continue to learn about parks, and share their own ranger story with friends and family.

The NPS Junior Ranger program is an activity based program conducted at the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park.

Interested youth complete a series of activities during a park visit, share their answers with a park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger badge. Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 7 to 13, although people of all ages can take part.

Junior Ranger booklets are available at the front desk of Plains High School, and the comfort station at the Boyhood Farm; ask a staff member for a booklet and a pencil.

Junior Ranger FAQs

What should I do if I couldn't visit the Visitor Center before leaving? Can I still receive a badge?

Absolutely! If you could not make it to the Visitor Center before your departure, we can mail you a Junior Ranger badge. Just send us pictures of your completed activity pages along with your mailing address via email or mail the completed booklet with a return address to Jimmy Carter National Historical Park, 300 North Bond Street Plains, Georgia 31780. 

Where can I get Junior Ranger booklets and badges?

Is there an age limit on who can be a Junior Ranger?

No, there is no age limit. Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 7 to 13, although people of all ages can participate. You are never too old to be a Junior Ranger!

Can the Junior Ranger booklet be mailed to me?

The quickest option is to download a booklet. If you do not have access to a printer, please email us your mailing address and we will mail you the booklet.

I got my booklet or badge and it’s damaged. What are the next steps?

Notify us vis email and we will send you a replacement.
