Barataria Preserve

- Potable water is available at the Barataria Preserve Visitor Center and the Barataria Preserve Education Center.

- Trashcans are available at the beginning of each trail and at the Visitor Center. There are no plastic bags provided, so please remember to bring your own.

- Be extra cautious of wildlife at the Barataria Preserve such as alligators, snakes, and insects (spiders, ticks, etc.).

- Some trails are elevated boardwalks, so be cautious of fall hazards for service animals.
Chalmette Battlefield

- Please be aware of snakes, coyotes, and alligators when walking the grounds at Chalmette Battlefield and Chalmette National Cemetery.
