The six sites of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve are scattered through south Louisiana, from the bayous to the prairies. See the big picture above; information about each site is below.

Here are quick links to transportation options and to information about hours and days that park sites are open.

The park's six sites are

  • Acadian Cultural Center - 501 Fisher Road, Lafayette; 337-232-0789. Map and information
  • Barataria Preserve - 6588 Barataria Boulevard, Marrero; 504-689-3690 ext. 10. Map and information including trail maps. If you use a GPS system, we recommend that you doublecheck with the map since not all systems find the preserve successfully.
  • Chalmette Battlefield and Chalmette National Cemetery - 8606 West St. Bernard Highway, Chalmette; 504-281-0510. Map and information
  • French Quarter Visitor Center - 419 Decatur Street, New Orleans; 504-589-3882 ext. 221. Map and information
    • Please note: Due to upcoming projects to repair damages suffered from Hurricane Ida in 2021, our French Quarter and New Orleans Jazz NHP Visitor Center is temporarily moved to 916 N. Peters Street, New Orleans, LA 70116. Check our Current Conditions page for updates.
