Do you want to explore, learn, and protect the nature, culture, and history of South Louisiana? If so, become a Jean Lafitte Junior Ranger! The Junior Ranger activity book is appropriate for all ages and is a great way to get more in-depth knowledge about the unique treasures of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.
How to Get Started
Becoming a Jean Lafitte Junior Ranger is fun, easy, and free. Stop by one of our six visitor centers in the park to get started.
The book has many activities that will guide your learning experience. Complete the correct number of activities for your age range.
Bring the book to a visitor center information desk. A park ranger will check your work and answer any additional questions you may have. If all the requirements are met, you will take the official pledge and will be sworn in as an official Jean Lafitte Junior Ranger, earning your very own Jean Lafitte Junior Ranger Badge!
Make sure you stamp the back of your booklet with the park site logo stamp. If you visit four visitor centers in our park and collect stamps from them, you can earn a special Jean Lafitte Junior Ranger Patch!
