Key Information

  1. Entrance fees vary

Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail does not require an entrance pass but many of the lands which the National Geologic Trail passes through do require a fee. Please check with your destination about entrance passes and fees before you go.

An entrance pass is not required to access Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

The Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail has dozens of parks and museums visitors can visit. Many of the parks and museums are not managed by the National Park Service. Fees and permits vary by location. Make sure you investigate pricing before visiting. Most federal public lands such as national parks, national forests, and lands managed by the Bureau of Reclamation honor the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. State parks throughout Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon require entrance fees and/or parking passes.

2026 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

Beginning in 2026, free entrance on these days will be for US citizens and residents only. Nonresidents will pay the regular entrance fee and any applicable nonresident fees.
