Horseshoe Bend National Military Park will close at 1:00 p.m. CST Thursday due to the approach of Hurricane Helene. Acting Superintendent Stacy Speas states, "The safety of visitors and staff is our priority. The park will close at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26. On Friday morning, staff will assess any damage and reopen the park when it is safe to do so."
The park tour road, Visitor Center, trails, backcountry, and boat launch are all included in this temporary closure.
