How will I know where there is equipment in the river and where can I travel?

All river users should look for the white lights on piers, pilings, barges and on other in water equipment. People with large boats should follow the red and green lights that mark the official navigation channel. River users can contact the bridge project’s tender boat via marine band radio VHF-FM channel 16 during work hours.

Will you close the river under the bridge or restrict where we can travel?

The National Park Service does not plan to close the river, but river users should watch out for construction traffic and may not be able to travel under some arches of Arlington Memorial Bridge while construction is underway. River users should look out for construction traffic, especially south of the bridge where workers will be moving materials from a staging area to the construction site. River users should use extreme caution until construction ends in early 2021.
