In the 1940s to early 1960s, five separate organizations formed for preserving George Washington Carver’s legacy, and all were connected in some way with the establishment and development of George Washington Carver National Monument. Two of these groups shared the role of the park’s cooperating association. In 1962, the George Washington Carver Birthplace Memorial Associates and the District Carver Association merged to form the George Washington Carver Birthplace District Association. Later, members changed the name to the Carver Birthplace Association (CBA).
Carver Birthplace Association (CBA) A 501c3 non-profit organization that exists to encourage the scientific, education, historical, and interpretive activities of the National Park Service at George Washington Carver National Monument. CBA operates the bookstore and park store in the visitor center with proceeds aiding park activities.
