Hawk Hill offers a prime vantage point for viewing thousands of hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures collectively known as “raptors” as they soar overhead during their annual fall migration. It is also lauded as the most spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline. But Hawk Hill is more than just a view. This unique site in the Marin Headlands is steeped in military history and plays an important role in the vitality of endangered mission blue butterflies. In order to preserve its rich historical, ecological, and recreational significance, Golden Gate National Recreation Area has been working with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to revitalize Hawk Hill since 2011. Find out below how plans to enrich the site will continue through 2023. Learn More about Hawk Hill
