3rd Annual Art in the Park at Fairsted (Sunday, July 21, 10-4:30)

Enjoy a summer day filled with music and art on the South Lawn! The day will include performances by Vaness Trien and The Jumping Monkeys, Juventas New Music Ensemble, and Just Kids. Family-friendly art activites will be available throughout the day, as well as tours of the historic design office at 10 AM and 1 PM. This free event is made possible in partnership with the Friends of Fairsted.

Vanessa Trien and The Jumping Monkeys (11 AM)
Vanessa Trien and her band of musical friends, lovingly called The Jumping Monkeys, pack concert halls, preschool fundraisers, libraries and outdoor venues with dancing kids and families. She is known for highly interactive and energetic shows, featuring plenty of group sining and movement. The Jumping Monkeys regularly includes Adam Michael Rothberg on lead guitar/mandolin, Fabio Pirozzolo on percussion, and Richard Gates on bass. Together with Vanessa, they create a joyful, acoustic instrument and harmony-rich folk/pop/world sound all their own.

Juventas New Music Ensemble (2 PM)
Since its founding in 2005, Juventas has performed the music of more than 300 living composers. The ensemble has earned a reputation as a curator with a keen eye for new talent. It opens doors for composers with top-notch professional performances that present their work in the best possible light. Juventas has a storied history of dynamic collaboration with artists in other media, including dancers, painters, scientists, poets, puppeteers, and robotics engineers. Juventas shares classical music as a vibrant, living art form. They bring audiences music from a diverse array of composers that live in today’s world and respond to our time.

Just Kids (3:50 PM)
Just Kids haven been making music together for almost 10 years. All gentlemen of a certain age, the band came together out of the world of Greater Boston media. From producing content and audio to word-smithing and event production, media production was a day job for everyone in the band. But it's getting together to jam, try new songs, and share their love of blues and rock- from Van Morrison to Tom Petty to The Rolling Stones - that really inspires them.
