(St. Simons Island, GA)-In preparation for tropical storm Nicole and the subsequent impacts to Glynn County, Fort Frederica National Monument will close to the public at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022. The park will remain closed through at least Friday November 11th. After the storm has passed, damage assessments will occur, and a re-opening date will be established once the park is deemed safe for visitation. Hazards: Multiple watches and warnings are in place for Fort Frederica NM and the surrounding community. Monitor the National Weather Service Jacksonville office for updated information. https://www.weather.gov/jax/
