Fort Frederica National Monument is a hidden jewel within the National Park System. The compelling history preserved here gives us a window into the early history of Georgia and the colonial struggle between two empires. Interpreting and protecting this wealth of history would be impossible without the dedicated team of volunteers who contribute countless hours of their time to promote and support “America’s Best Idea.” Fort Frederica National Monument needs dedicated volunteers to help accomplish our mission. The duty of the National Park Service is to preserve the site for future generations and provide opportunities for visitors to understand this substantial history. Ways you can help: · Working in our visitor center and greeting our many visitors as they enter the park, giving them all the information they need to have a memorable experience. · Assisting our interpretive staff as a tour guide or living history demonstrator. Practice colonial era trades and crafts to make history come alive for our guests. · Join our maintenance crew and help (literally) keep the park gates open. Carpentry, landscaping, painting, cleaning, and so much more are vital for the health of the facility. Whatever skills or interests you possess; you can find meaningful opportunities to get involved at YOUR National Park! While helping preserve and share this special place volunteers get to experience the park in many unique ways. Current Volunteer Opportunities
