Distance Learning

A ranger hold a tablet in front of fossil snakes. A classroom with students on chairs is visible on the tablet.
Distance learning programs are a great way for a classroom to learn about the monument from a distance.

A fossil adventure awaits! Sign up for a 20-45 minute live tour of the visitor center, which has over 400 fossils. A ranger will tell you all about the amazing fossils from Fossil Lake 52-milion years ago and leave some time at the end of the program for questions.

Programs are available Tuesdays-Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Mountain time. Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance. Please email us and a ranger will contact you to discuss available times for your programs. If you have a question regarding programs, you can also reach us at 307-877-4455.

The program addresses 3-LS4-1 but can be adapted to meet the following curriculum: K-LS1-1, 2-LS4-1, 4-ESS1-1, and MS-LS2-4. Please discuss your curriculum needs with the ranger when scheduling your program.
